Why faith matters

This essay is specifically about faith and why it is an integral necessity of human existence.

So what is faith, by definition it means complete trust or confidence in someone or something. So why has faith become a dirty word. well the main reason for this is cause by people boxing faith in with religion.

So the first thing you must learn is

FAITH IS NOT SYNONYMOUS WITH RELGION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but wheres the proof you ask. well to start lets look back at the religions of the ancient world and how elements of them are still use today.

whither you went to India, China, Africa, Greece, etc. everyone of theses countries had their own gods, goddess, spirits, why?

Now I know the scientist would say it was their way of explaining a world that they didn't fully understand, that's only half true.

Despite the spiritual images. Their faiths were often to their individual or cultural indulgences and necessitates, mentally that is. But even if that's the case its not like any of those faiths are still use today even without the image of a god. Well lets look at a few examples and see how that stacks up.

The gods of war was often use by soldiers for these reasons. That they were fighting in the right. That they will be victorious in battle or if things turn bad that they will die an Honorable death. these same faiths are still apply to this day in all military's throughout the entire world.

Another good example is the gods of harvest. giving faith to the families that they'll have enough food throughout the year. Again this is still use to this day and such phases as put bread on the table express this.

And finally their were goddesses of fertility to have faith in giving birth to a healthy babe. A common faith express by mothers to this day.

So regardless of the image of god. A healthy faith keeps a healthy mind. After all...

I'm giving historical context as to how things were instead of how people wanna rewrite it as.

do you have faith in you're family, friends, lovers, political parties, or yourself?

That's what I thought anyway...

Than why are you walking away

now where was I. you can gain all the scientific knowledge in the universe but still have no self worth.

Which leads us to what happens when one loses all faith in all things.

Suicide. Now I know the affects of this can be driven through depression, anxiety, physical or verbal abuse etc. But none these are the snapping point.

The moment before you jump off that ledge. Something along these lines will be running through you're head. not only is all life meaningless all life is worthless.

Which begs the question? how the hell are you suppose to prevent suicide when you don't know why this happens.

Well now you know, everyone needs faith. Yes even atheists. You wanna live without god fine but that doesn't mean you can constantly undermine and ignore faith itself. Or point at all the wicked manipulations and misuses of faith as a reassurance that its all bad.

that's like assuming that cause you can drown in water that all waters for drowning. Or cause theirs abusive relationships all relationships are abusive. Which is just downright insulting. How the hell are you suppose to live without these sustenance's, news flash YOU CANT!

So remember, keep the faith.
