Thoughts on the U.S. government

What government does the U.S. have? Democracy, are you sure? I’ll answer you in a little bit if you’ll be so kind as to wait.

A bit of info

The Progressive Era is a label applied to a rather broad and sometimes disparate attempt in the period from the 1900 through the end of World War I in 1918 to address economic and social
Reform.

The movement included advocates in both the Democratic and Republican parties, as well as members of third parties

The United States shall guarantee to every state in this

Union a Republican

Form of government

This is stated in the U.S. Constitution

Article 4

Section 4.

This is referring to a Republic not the party.

The difference between a Republic and Democracy

In a Republic, the government gets its power from the people. In a Democracy, the government rules of its own free will, and in turn, gives its citizens limited “privileges” under which they may live. Democracies are therefore prone to “Corporate” rule...

all governments have corruption for its a human behavior that cant be stop but the strongest governments will be the ones that limit and weaken their corruption. So while still keeping the foundation to U.S. Constitution. here's some ideas that might help.

1st bring back our republic.

2nd abolish the electoral college. The peoples votes should be the only ones that count in a presidential election.

3rd abolish lobbying. corrupt corporations shouldn't be the ones given biased laws.

Now that's a start but from here things get a little strange but it might work. Keep in mind this is just me spit balling and more than likely nothing will come out of this.

A voluntary republic. People will be chosen at random just like a jury. a mix of different people and ideals to hopefully keep things unbiased. also to bridge the gap between ordinary civilians and politicians. While still maintaining the guidelines for becoming senator, president, etc. If anyone chooses to not attend they'll be fine.

instead of the way it operates now. This government will have no professorial politicians. Abolishing reelections. As well as not being allow to run in any other form of office. for example if your a senator once your terms up you can never run for president. This will limit our Richard the 3rds if you catch my meaning.

As for resources in campaigning they shall only be able to use enough within reason. no extremities. also third parties will be abolish from paying for campaigns. all the people running will have fair amounts of news coverage.

Elected officials will only be pay and given benefits of equal proportion to their last job. This includes minimum wage jobs. Also all laws voted by political leaders shall have it enforce upon them.

And this will also apply to the supreme court. No longer chosen by the president. The people shall vote for their judges. With a single term of 2 to 6 years. While including all the other amendments I've already mention as well as set in the constitution.

Added notes

To me this is how laws should be voted by elected officials. While staying unbiased they should Imagine how each law their voting on. will be apply to the people on either side. Studying the pros and cons of each law. if one clearly outweighs the other. Lets say for example the cons are more then the pros then you vote against it. if that's not attainable then let your own discretion be your guide. But no matter how you vote theirs no guarantee that you're right. and remember elected officials are not meant to vote for themselves their voting for the people.

And as for the people they need all the votes they can get. For freedom is only ensure if the people continue to enact on it.

“cut it all off.” the one who seems to sneer says. The engines hum drops. The last flick switches bring darkness.
